Improving Patient-Clinician Communication in Cancer Care | Medpage Today

Would I have embarked on a regimen of surgery, radiation, chemo for my cancer IF the doctors had treated me as a person and not just another “procedure”? Twenty-three months since biopsy and I am still in the world in good health as a 75-year-old. The problem is that time with the patient is short and expensive. All kinds of competent medical people become members of the cancer care team and public relations may just be in short supply.
