Oregon Medicaid program could cut off chronic pain patients from opioids – STAT

Officials are considering a first-in-the-nation proposal that would end coverage for opioids for chronic pain patients enrolled in Oregon’s Medicaid program

+Pain.  A reality that can’t be measured.  We have to take the patient’s word for it.  Women complain about pain more than men.  What about the veterans?  The VA is cutting back on their prescribing of opioids.  So they come to us or buy something on the streets.  The program exempts cancer patients and other patients receiving palliative care (?).  Taper to zero has a nice “ring” to it.  The big fantasy is that if they can’t get “shit”, they will stop doing “shit”.  Like sex, I guess.
